In an effort to remain current in the field of education and technology, it is essential for teachers to pursue on-going professional development. With a mission to ensure that students are receiving the best educational opportunities available to them, technology becomes a fundamental component of that mission.

During this 1-hr round-table discussion, representatives from Queen’s Faculty of Education, Continuing Teacher Education, and CANeLearn invite you to join in a discussion about the needs of teachers in the online learning environment.  Bring your voice and ideas to share in a discussion about how providers can work with education leaders to fulfill areas in which technology skills and e-learning pedagogy proficiency can support those teaching online or transitioning to do so.

About Queen's University eTeacher Programs...

Unlike the majority of continuing teacher education courses offered by university faculties of education in Ontario, Queen’s University has a new vision for what professional development should look like. In addition to the Additional Qualification, created and governed by OCT, Queen’s is looking to create a series of micro-course certificates, based entirely on the needs present in domestic, international, and virtual classroom environments.  Now, teacher’s will have the opportunity to take a 30-hr micro course to better understand a topic, theory, or technology that may be encouraged by their school or district, from a course provider who has subject matter experts working with professional instructional designers, editors, and web developers to design a top-quality course. Designers, developers, and instructors, who are part of a system that has been in place for over 15 years, maintain this course.
